LEON COUNTY, Fla. (WTXL) - A Leon County deputy has been fired following a DUI arrest over the weekend.

On Saturday morning, the Leon County Sheriff’s Office was notified that the Tallahassee Police Department arrested LCSO Deputy James Christopher Ford for driving under the influence.

LCSO said Ford was off duty at the time of the arrest and was in his personal vehicle.

Around 2 a.m. Saturday, a TPD officer conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle Ford was driving. As a result of the investigation, Ford was arrested and booked into the Leon County Detention Facility.

As a result of the arrest, Ford’s employment with LCSO has been terminated.

Ford began work as an LCSO employee on February 5, 2018 and was still in a probationary status.
