TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) -- If you want a fresh look for the new year, here's some hair help!
Jeremy Terry, a stylist at Moxie Salon in Midtown, joined us on WTXL Midday with a look at some of the biggest trends we'll see in 2016.
For guys, the classic undercut style is making a comeback. It's a versatile cut that can be worn several ways. The undercut, essentially, is shaved on the sides and long in the front. How it's styled can make it edgy or toned down and office appropriate.
Terry predicts we'll be seeing more waves on women's hair this year. He recommends using a one-inch barrel curler to get the best look.
Also this year, balayage is replacing hombre as a new way to color hair.
Balayage is a French word meaning to sweep or to paint. It's done free-hand, so it's good to talk with your stylist about what kind of look you want to create.
This technique can help you brighten up the hair around your face to accentuate your features. It can give a more natural look to highlights and is very low maintenance because it grows in more naturally. Terry says you with balayage, you can go longer in between appointments.
