Gadsden County releases 2018 General Election recount numbers

GADSDEN COUNTY, Fla. (WTXL) - Gadsden County has completed its recount of votes cast in the 2018 General Election.

In a recount completed Monday, records show that of the 29,791 registered voters, 20,158 voted in the county's 25 precincts on November 6. 

In the U.S. Senate race, Republican Gov. Rick Scott received 6,050 votes (30.27 percent), U.S. Sen. Bill Nelson, a Democrat, received 13,937 votes (69.73 percent), and write-in received 1 vote (1 percent) for a total of 19,988 votes.

In the governor's race, former U.S. Rep. Ron DeSantis, a Republican, received 6,200 votes (30.91 percent) while Tallahassee Mayor Andrew Gillum, a Democrat, received 13,712 votes (68.36 percent). Others altogether received 146 of the 20,058 total votes cast in the race.

In the commissioner of agriculture race, Matt Caldwell, a Republican, received 6,328 votes (31.94 percent) while Nicole "Nikki" Fried, a Democrat, received 13,485 votes (68.06 percent) for a total of 19,813 votes.
