TALLAHASSEE, Fla.-- Florida State University police are investigating after the body of a dead woman was found near the school's Alumni Association Center.
The body was found the afternoon of Tuesday, March 5. An initial investigation by the FSU and Tallahassee police departments revealed no signs of foul play.
An autopsy has been scheduled to determine the cause of death.
Police aren't releasing the deceased’s name until her identity is confirmed and her next of kin have been notified.
The preliminary identification reveals that the woman isn't a student, professor, or faculty member of Florida State University.
FSU officials say the area where the body was found is an undeveloped, secluded section of the property with no foot traffic or academic facilities.
