HAVANA, Fla. (WTXL) - A group of coal miners were honored this morning in Havana.
Its all in observance of "Worker's Memorial Day".
Hosted by the Florida Mine Safety program, organizers say they wanted to memorialize those who've been severely hurt, suffered illness, or died while on the job. WTXL spoke to one miner who says, with such a high risk position, safety is always at the forefront.
An honor bell sounded an echo of remembrance for each fallen coal miner in our area.
