QUITMAN, Ga. (WTXL)--A Brooks County woman accused of voter fraud is found not guilty Wednesday.
Jurors deliberated for eight hours in the trial of Lula Smart. Brooks County Superior Court officials say she was acquitted of 18 counts of unlawful possession of ballots and one count of interfering with electors.
The case dates back to the primary election in July of 2010 when investigators say they discovered a large number of absentee ballots were cast.
