LEON COUNTY, Fla. (WTXL) - Troopers are asking the public to be on the lookout for a car that hit a 16-year-old driver's car, causing it to spin and collide with a utility pole.

The Florida Highway Patrol said that around 7:40 p.m. on Tuesday, a 16-year-old was traveling southbound on Capitol Circle SW in the outside lane.

The boy told troopers that another car was traveling the same way in the inside lane. Troopers say that according to the juvenile, the car traveled from the inside lane to the outside lane, hitting his car's bumper.

FHP said that this caused the the teen's to spin. The car's right tire then hit a curb and continued moving along the curb until it crashed into a utility pole.

Troopers say that the car who hit the boy left the scene. The car is described as a small, black regular cab truck, possibly a Mazda or Toyota. They said the car should have damage to the front left bumper.

The public is encouraged to call the Tallahassee FHP Station at 850-410-3046 with any leads they may have on the hit and run vehicle or driver.
