QUINCY, Fla. (WTXL) -  The body of a 10-year-old boy who went overboard after a boating accident on Lake Talquin has been found.

What started out as a family trip on a boat on Lake Talquin turned into a nightmare when John "Skylar" Brogden-Marr went missing after a boating accident.

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission says he was found by one of their officers a little after 10 a.m. on Wednesday in the general area that they had been searching.

In total, this search lasted five days, with search and rescue teams coming out from all over Florida and Georgia to help.

The FWC has been in charge of the search investigation and yesterday, they brought cadaver dogs out to the lake. These dogs alerted the officer to a specific location, which is were Brogden-Marr was found.

While the family has a lot of healing to go, they can now begin to get some closure.

"They are relieved at this point," said Sgt. Anglie Hightower, the assistant chief investigator at the Gadsden County Sheriff's Office. "Still, they are going through the emotional part of the loss, but they are relieved that his body has been recovered."

His body has been turned over to medical examiner's office for an autopsy to determine the cause of death.

The FWC provided WTXL with this statement:

"This morning, FWC officers recovered the body of John Skylar Brogdon-Marr, a 10 year old boy who was ejected from a boat during a boating accident on Lake Talquin on Saturday. All of us at the FWC want to express our sincere condolences to the family of this young child. This is a heartbreaking tragedy, and we will be praying for John’s family during this terrible time. This boating accident investigation is ongoing, and until this investigation concludes, the FWC has no more information to release."

A GoFundMe page was put together to help the 10-year-old's family with bills, groceries, and funeral expenses. You can donate here
