FRANKLIN COUNTY. Fla. (WTXL) - The Franklin County Sheriff's Office reports the body of hero, Bruce Maynor Jr. has been recovered.
Investigators would like to thank first responders and volunteers who assisted in the search.
The Franklin County Sheriff has identified the swimmer missing in the waters off of St. George Island as Bruce Maynor, Jr.
The Sheriff says Maynor, 29, was at the beach with his family Sunday when he jumped into the water to save a 12-year-old child. They said that Maynor then gave the child to someone else before he was pulled under the water.
The Sheriff's Office said that they are having difficulty with the search Monday, but say that they will continue the search tomorrow.
The search is now is considered a body recovery.
