MIDWAY, Fla. (WTXL) - A Quincy man was arrested after an attempted robbery at the Pilot Gas Station early Friday morning.

The suspect was identified as Queshawn Morrison, 21, by the Gadsden County Sheriff's Office.

Multiple Florida Highway Patrol Troopers and Gadsden County Sheriff's deputies responded around 11:30 p.m. to the the Pilot Gas Station on Hwy 90 in Midway.

Captain Bobby Collins with the Gadsden County Sheriff's Department said a  man jumped over the counter and tried to steal cigarettes and other items.

The suspect tried to get away, but an FHP Trooper was able to apprehend him.

WTXL talked with a witness who said they heard loud booms.

Collins could not say whether or not a weapon was used, though no one was injured.

Gadsden County is handling the investigation. The heavy police presence is part of the "ALL In" initiative.

Collins said this attempted robbery is not connected to the armed robbery that happened at the same Pilot Gas Station on Wednesday morning.

The suspect in Wednesday robbery, believed to be wanted in a string of burglaries, went into the gas station and fired several shots into the ceiling, demanding that the cashier give him money.

According to GCSO, the suspect got the money and stole a woman's purse on his way out. During the ordeal there were several store patrons on site, but  no one was injured.
