TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - The Tallahassee Police Department is reminding drivers to stay safe and Move Over.

Officer Rachelle Denmark came on Sunrise to let drivers know that the Move Over law isn't just for emergency vehicles, drivers must also change lanes for sanitation vehicles and utility service vehicles.

If drivers are on a two-lane highway or if it is impossible to change lanes safely, drivers need to slow down to 20 miles per hour below the listed speed limit. For roads where the speed limit is 20 miles per hour or less, drivers must drive at a speed of 5 miles per hour.

For more information about the Move Over Law, the Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles has a web page dedicated to information about the law.
