Alzheimer's Awareness: Early Warning Signs

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) -- September is Alzheimer's Awareness Month, and every Tuesday, WTXL Sunrise is talking about some important information about the disease.

We talked to the Alzheimer's Project to find out more about early warning signs.

Here are some of the things experts say you should be on the look out for:

- Memory loss that disrupts daily life

- Repetition- stories, words, etc.

- Language problems- struggle to remember a word

- Personality changes- sudden mood swings

- Disorientation and confusion- lost in familiar surroundings

The Alzheimer's Project is hosting the "Forget Me Not" Walk and Festival. The kick-off party is Tuesday, September 29 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Momo's Pizza on Market Street.

The event is November 1 from 1:30 p.m. until 4 p.m.
