TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - The Seven Days of Local Delights celebration, hosted by the Red Hills Small Farm Alliance, kicked off today. It will be highlighting locally grown and produced food all week long.

There will be events held all throughout the week from a film festival on Wednesday to workshops to promote local food and healthy living.

Monday at 5:30, the City of Tallahassee is hosting the "Eat Fresh, Spend Less" workshop at the Lawrence Gregory Community Center. It aims to teach participants food nutrition, fresh food cooking techniques, meal planning and budgeting.

Later this week, a Teen Top Chef cooking class will give teens a hands on experience on preparing their own meal.

In addition to the workshops and events, more than a dozen restaurants will be featuring locally sourced specials on their menus. All you have to do when you visit one of the participating restaurants is ask for the Red Hills special.
