LEON COUNTY, Fla. (WTXL) -- The Florida Highway Patrol reported a car crash happening on I-10 eastbound near mile marker 199 on Thursday, May 4. A total of 11 people were involved in a four-vehicle crash on an I-10 ramp in Tallahassee.
Four of the eleven involved were taken to the hospital and two are said to be in serious condition.
Troopers say 63-year-old Sharon Hess is one of the two in serious condition. She was speeding on the ramp from North Monroe Street when slippery roads caused her to lose control of her car.
Officials say Hess hit one car and slid back and hit a semi truck. They say a fourth vehicle was trying not to avoid hitting the three vehicles, but was unsuccessful.
Roads were blocked for an hour and a half.
According to officials, Hess is being issued a citation for failure to use due care.
