MIDWAY, FL - You may see some decorated rocks randomly placed around town.

Today on AB+FAB=CREATE we are learning how to make our own "Tallahassee Rocks."

Bonnie York and Melanie Davis gets crafty with Sunrise.

Supplies:

Rocks,washed amd dried

arylic paint

brushes and water cup for rinsing

sealant

Instructions:

Lay out paper (for example, wax paper on top of newspaper) or plastic on a table to protect your painting surfaces. Then you'll need clean and dry rocks, paint, markers and brushes. Any size, shape and color will work. Then paint! You can go as fancy, abstract, colorful or monochromatic as you want. Artistic skill is not necessary, all you need is a few supplies and a desire to create and have some fun with friends and/or family!

Once you are done painting, set your rocks off to the side and let them dry completely. It's a good idea to mark the Facebook group name on the back (making certain the front side is completely dry) and you can #hashtag your city or initials if you wish! Once your paint is dry, you'll need to seal them. You can do this any number of ways; I prefer a clear spray sealant, available in craft stores and hardware stores. Once the sealant has dried it's time to "hide" them in parks and local areas, avoiding any place where they may cause damage. Please always be aware of your surroundings, and watch out for such things as fire ants and poison ivy. Make sure you have permission to hide your rock treasures around some public areas, for example, libraries and stores. We have prepared a handout to help explain our group and our purpose: to spread joy!

There is a new group called Tallahassee rocks Facebook I created this group so everyone could spread joy and happiness and inspiration to our community and surrounding communities we started out with 3 members and we now have over 1,000 members we just paint rocks and hide them around different places and people find them and rehide for others to find or they paint their own and hide. this is been very exciting for people the smiles on their faces says it all this is a community builder and very fun, adults love it just as much as children.
